Privacy notice

This notice explains how the Millennium Signal briefing handles your personal data, and your rights under the GDPR. It is written to be honest and specific to how the service actually works.

Who is responsible

Millennium Signal is an independent intelligence briefing published by Riccardo Murciano, the data controller. Contact: riccardo.murciano@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Your email address — to deliver the briefing and verify your account.
• Your name (optional) — only if you provide it, to address you.
• Your configuration — the topics, sources, cadence and format you choose.
• Account security data — a hashed password (if you use email sign-in) or a Google account identifier (if you use Google sign-in). We never see your Google password.
• Operational logs — delivery records, sign-in attempts and consent records, kept to run the service securely and to prove your opt-in.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To send you the briefing you asked for — legal basis: your consent (Art 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art 11.7 Telecommunicatiewet). You give it when you confirm your email and request a Signal, and you can withdraw it at any time.
• To secure and operate the service — legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and keeping the system reliable.

We do not sell your data, run advertising, or use it to build profiles for third parties.

Who else processes it

• Google — if you choose “Continue with Google,” for sign-in only.
• Email delivery (Gmail/Google Workspace SMTP) — to send the edition to your inbox.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and configuration for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data; we retain the minimal record needed to prove you had consented and then withdrew, where the law allows.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or port it elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time — every edition carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all future editions immediately. To exercise any right, email riccardo.murciano@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Changes

If this notice changes materially, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
